EV Policy - Uttar Pradesh

Introduction

From year 2017 to 2021, Uttar Pradesh was leading the nation with maximum electric vehicles registration. Uttar Pradesh EV Policy is aimed at creating clean mobility solutions and infrastructure and become leading state for electric vehicle adoption.

Demand Incentives

  • ROAD TAX :
    1. At the rate of 100% on any EV purchased & registered in UP over a period of 3 years from policy notification
    2. At the rate of 100% on any EV manufactured, purchased & registered in UP in the 4th & 5th year of policy period
  • VEHICLE REGISTRATION : 100% exemption on vehicle registration.
  • DEMAND GENERATION SUBSIDY (4W) : @15% of ex-factory cost upto Rs 1 lakh per vehicle subject to maximum budget outlay of Rs 250 Cr to maximum of 25000 EVs.
Charging station subsidy

1. Charging Stations shall be provided one time capital subsidy on eligible fixed capital investment for service providers at the rate of 20% subject to maximum INR 10 lakh per unit to 1st 2000 Charging Stations in the State.
2. Concessional rates in designated areas to set up charging infra
3. Development of Charging infrastructure shall be promoted every 25kms along Expressways/ Highways.
4. The State Government shall promote creation of charging / swapping facilities in public parking spaces, Metro stations, Bus depots/ Terminals, petrol pumps, Govt Buildings, Corporate Buildings, Educational/ Health Institutes, Shopping malls & other commercial places, Group Housing societies and RWAs, Gram Sabha land, etc.

Manufacturing subsidy and Tariff

1. Capital subsidy @25% to first 100 charging station
2. Capital subsidy @25% to first 10 units of hydrogen generation and fueling plant in UP
3. Upto 25% reimbursement to ultra mega battery plant
4. Ultra mega battery plant will be reimbursed 50% cost of technology transfer, upto 10 lakh per annum
5. Upto 25% reimbursement to mega anchor projects
6. Anchor EBUs will be reimbursed 100% and 75% cost of technology transfer towarda first and next 5 vendors units consecutively

Other Subsidy, if any

Exemption on:
1. Capital Interest subsidy
2. Infrastructure interest subsidy
3. Industrial quality subsidy
4. Stamp duty and electricity duty exemption
5. SGST reimbursements
6. Upto 75% finacial assistance towards patents and certifications

Skill development

As reimbursement of stipend shall be provided one time at the rate of INR 5,000 per employee per year to a maximum of first 50 employees to all defined manufacturing projects.
