EV Policy - Himachal Pradesh

Introduction

Himachal Pradesh Govt believes in using cleaner fuels for long run to preserve the quality of the fragile hill ecology. State believes that electric mobility has potential to be safe, energy-efficient, eco-friendly and sustainable mode of transport.

Demand Incentives

  • ROAD TAX : EVs are subjected to exemption of road taxes and state toll taxes till the end of policy period.
Charging station subsidy

1. At least 1 charging station/point within every 1 kmX1km grid in four model cities - Mandi, Baddi, Shimla and Dharamshala
2. Atleast one charging station every 25 km on a state highway and every 50 km on a national highway
3. Single widow system for ease of charger installation and granting required permissions
4. State Government will create charging infrastructure on the Production Linked Incentives (PLI) Scheme for National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage of Ministry of Heavy Industries

Manufacturing subsidy and Tariff

Allocation of 100 to 200 acres of land as per provisions in the State Industrial Policy of Himachal Pradesh for developing EV parks with adequate infrastructure, common facilities and necessary external infrastructure.

Electricity Tariff

HPSEBL will be empowered to set tariff applicable for all EV charging and battery swapping stations across the State.
