It has the highest number of public EV charging stations in the country, setting a new benchmark at 5765 stations.
The data from BEE shows that Karnataka stands ahead of Maharashtra (3,728 stations), Uttar Pradesh (1,989 stations), and Delhi (1,941 stations). The State government plans to develop model EV cities across the state, to promote EV adoption and establish a sustainable framework for the future. The government announced the establishment of 2,500 new EV charging stations via the PPP model, and plans to invest Rs.35 crore to set up 100 EV charging stations.
Visiting Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim is expected to make an emphatic pitch for Indian investments to revive his country's economy and amplify its digital and green energy sectors given India's solid experience and skill.
